Apple and Major League Baseball have announced the August schedule for Friday Night Baseball, with AppleTV is set to air another month of weekly doubleheaders featuring the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Mariners, Cubs, Cardinals and more. Here are the details.
August ‘Friday Night Baseball’ schedule revealed
Earlier today, Apple and MLB unveiled the August schedule for Friday Night Baseball, which AppleTV Subscribers in 60 countries and regions can watch it every Friday throughout the month.
As Apple noted, the schedule is “highlighted by several marquee matchups, including the latest chapter in two of baseball’s most iconic rivalries.” Here is the complete calendar for the month:
August 7
- Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers, 8 p.m. ET
- Tampa Bay Rays vs. Seattle Mariners, 9:30 p.m. ET
August 14
- St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs, 2 p.m. ET
- New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7 p.m. ET
August 21
- Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles, 7 p.m. ET
- Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers, 8 p.m. ET
August 28
- Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees, 7 p.m. ET
- Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7 p.m. ET
Here’s Apple on what baseball fans can expect from next month’s broadcasts:
For the fifth consecutive season, “Friday Night Baseball” games will be called by broadcast teams Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst) and Heidi Watney (sideline reporter); and Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst) and Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter) with Rich Waltz, who will join the broadcast team to call select games throughout the season. Game-by-game announcer assignments will be revealed weekly. “Friday Night Baseball” pregame shows will be hosted by Lauren Gardner, former MLB All-Star Eric Hosmer and pundit Russell Dorsey.
Apple also says fans in the US and Canada will be able to listen to local radio broadcasts at home and on the go during Friday night baseball games, depending on availability. In Canada, that option is limited to Toronto Blue Jays home games.
