Samsung could finally be preparing to revamp one of its most forgotten Galaxy accessories. The Galaxy SmartTag 3 could launch in September, according to a new leak, finally ending a nearly three-year wait since the SmartTag 2 arrived in 2023.
The rumor comes from well-known leaker Roland Quandt, who shared on blue sky that the SmartTag 3 will arrive soon with the Galaxy S26 FE. If that schedule holds, Samsung will likely announce both devices together at its highly anticipated September launch event for the Fan Edition phone. That’s all we know so far. Even with so few details, Samsung has a lot of room to improve its item tracker. The existing SmartTag 2 still works with Bluetooth 5.3 and is only compatible with Samsung’s. If this rumor is true, Samsung has a real chance to make the SmartTag line relevant. An increase in specifications alone won’t be enough in 2026, especially when rivals have been busy improving their tracking networks and user experience over the past few years. I wish Samsung would spend more time making SmartThings Find truly reliable when needed. A tracker is only as good as the network that supports it.
