Wuthering Waves is a fairly popular gacha game that was first released on PC and PlayStation. finally coming to Xbox. Unfortunately for fans, the Xbox launch didn’t live up to expectations. Players have been asking developer Kuro Games to resolve a variety of technical issues, with one user, @ClebsAlexandre on X (formerly Twitter)showing how hard the game looks on a Xbox Series.
The footage highlights severe pop-in textures, graphical glitches, missing shadows, and what appear to be very low-quality settings, leading some fans to speculate that the Xbox version may have been created using the mobile version of the game as a base.
I have to admit that I don’t really like gacha games, but seeing how poor the game looks on Xbox is really disappointing, especially when the PlayStation version seems to run and look much better, at least according to some users.
I highly doubt this is an Xbox hardware issue. We know that the Xbox Series X, and yes, even the Series S, are more than capable machines. Instead, I suspect something simply went wrong with the port and I hope it’s something Kuro Games can fix in a future update.
X fans are understandably frustrated. One user wrote“Thank you very much for the experience of a mobile game running at low settings on Xbox!“That said, while researching the topic, I came across a handful of PlayStation 5 Players are reporting similar issues, suggesting this may not be completely isolated to Xbox.
Still, I hope Kuro Games can fix these problems. As it stands, the Xbox version looks and performs well below what you’d expect from a modern title, especially on the Series X.
