Electronic Arts has named Kylian Mbappé as the cover athlete for the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 27, marking the French footballer’s return to the franchise’s cover after a four-year absence.
While Mbappé previously appeared on the covers of FIFA 21, FIFA 22 and FIFA 23, FC 27 will be his first appearance as an EA Sports FC cover star following the series’ rebranding. He will also become the new EA Sports FC Mobile cover athlete.
“Appearing on the cover of an EA Sports FC title for the first time is a very special moment for me,” said Mbappé. “It’s an honor to continue my long-term relationship with the franchise in its final chapter.”
The announcement follows Mbappé’s first two seasons with Real Madrid. According to EA, he finished as LaLiga’s top scorer in both seasons and won the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Golden Boot after scoring 15 goals in the competition.
The cover reveal is the first in a week of planned EA Sports FC 27 announcements. EA will release the game’s first trailer on YouTube on Thursday, July 23 at 7 pm Saudi Arabia time, which is 8 pm in the United Arab Emirates.
The media alert does not include the game’s release date, supported platforms, price, or pre-order details.
