Fans eager to know what Gears of War: E-DayIt looks like multiplayer modes won’t have to wait any longer. Coalition has confirmed in X that in July 30, 2026 at 6:00 am PT | 9:00 a.m. Eastern Timewill reveal first gameplay footage of Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer at Official Xbox YouTube Channel.

What we know so far about Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer is that, according to Xbox Wirewill feature a 12-player PvE horde mode similar to Gears of War 2’s horde mode, but on a much larger scale, where you and other players work to defend against invading Locust across giant city maps.
In addition, it will feature a 4v4 PvP mode where players will fight on symmetrically designed maps in the classic Gears of War style with new traversal mechanics included.
Additionally, playing both modes will contribute to completing in-game challenges, events, and achievements, and these multiplayer modes will be updated seasonally through a content roadmap.
Players who pre-ordered the game or who are subscribers of Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass You’ll be able to play these multiplayer modes early during an Open Beta testing weekend starting August 6, 2026.
However, this game reveal on July 30, 2026 will give fans a brief taste of what they can expect to see before then.

Gears of War’s multiplayer modes are often a highlight alongside the main campaign, featuring incredibly brutal, fast-paced, and challenging firefights that always end in hilarious mayhem.
I still have fond memories of my brother screaming in fear when he was overwhelmed by a squad of Locust before attacking them alone in a blind panic in Gears of War 2’s Horde mode.
So I can’t wait to see how Gears of War: E-Day plans to improve Horde Mode because the idea of 12 players scrambling to fight the Locust at once with the possibility of friendly fire killing everyone sounds like my kind of chaos.
