‘Interview with the Vampire’ responds to the fourth season



Bye bye, The Vampire Lestat. Hello, Queen of the Damned. Interview with the vampire has been renewed for a fourth season, based on the third book of Ana Rice‘s vampire diaries series. Queen of the Damned It revolves around Akasha (Sheila Atim), the mother of all vampires, and follows her from her time as a pre-Egyptian queen to the present day. No spoilers, but she’s not very happy about almost everything, and she’s also incredibly powerful. Watch a trailer below.

AMC announced the news during its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel to The Vampire Lestat. In a press release, AMC Global Media chief content officer and president of AMC Studios Dan McDermott said: “In The Vampire LestatMark (Johnson, executive producer), Rolin (Jones, executive producer), Hannah (Moscovitch, executive producer) and this extraordinary cast delivered an unforgettable season full of propulsive storytelling that captivated the passionate and committed fans of this franchise. We are eager to continue the journey with Queen of the Damnedone of the most iconic stories in Anne Rice mythology, and watch as our beloved, established characters confront Akasha with her world, and ours, at stake.”

Moscovitch will serve as showrunner on Queen of the Damnedreplacing Jones, who created the series and was showrunner for the first three seasons. The Vampire Lestat just wrapped up its run last week, ending on a huge cliffhanger that will lead directly to Queen of the Damned. The Vampire Lestat stars Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Atim, Delainey Hayles and Jennifer Ehle.

There is currently no release date for Queen of the Damned.
