Samsung has had an eventful week with galaxy unpacked dropping important revelations. Coming back to the situation, rumors are surfacing about the upcoming updates to its flagship phone.
Rumors started from a couple different sources this week. The first arises from Galaxy Club (Dutch), stating that the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus could receive camera technology from a new company (via GSMArena). Samsung typically swaps out its in-house Exynos chips for Qualcomm when its phones are launched in other markets (markets other than Korea or Europe). Now, rumors claim that Samsung could give up its camera sensor, ISOCELL, in favor of Sony’s.
The publication cites information from an anonymous source, who claims that this change to Sony is being “tested” for the main sensor of the S27 and S27 Plus. Early testing shows that this sensor would arrive at 50MP, and that’s only if the testing goes well and we manage to bring this to fruition. The rumors about the Galaxy S27 don’t end there, as tipster Lanzuk reports in naver (Korean) claims the phones could receive a familiar battery upgrade.

Lanzuk says the silicon-carbon battery technology is currently “in application testing” for upcoming Samsung phones. While it’s easy to get excited from the start, Lanzuk says there are still a lot of moving parts. For one thing, the battery capacity supposedly hasn’t increased. However, this could be due to the early stages of the series, as “nothing is finalized.”
Changes galore
Camera rumors have not been shy about Samsung’s S27 series. Specifically, there was reports on The changes to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which say it could have an ISOCELL HP6 sensor. While this is an “upgrade”, the device was still rumored to offer 200MP with this newer sensor. Let’s not forget the supposed “Galaxy S27 Pro”. Samsung is said to be able to launch four Galaxy S series phones next year, with the “Pro” being the new kid on the block.
The S27 Pro could present cameras closer to the Ultra experience, but with “all-new sensors” to shake things up. The rumor about the S27 series battery is interesting. We’ve heard rumors about Samsung potentially”catching up“to its competition with bigger and better batteries. Of course, we are talking about silicon-carbon batteries, but nothing is certain. What is The truth, which is also nice to see, is that Samsung’s latest folding devices rock this new technology.

It seems we are entering a unique timeline for Samsung. Their foldables have received a battery update that we were waiting for. Could have been better: cellular capacity, of course. Samsung is still quite far from its competition. I guess having silicon-carbon technology is better than not having it.
