maximum HBO is turning up the heat with an August lineup that leans deeply toward big-event television. In addition to a mix of unscripted content, subscribers will also be able to enjoy some streaming movie premieres, a highly anticipated new series, a new season of a returning favorite, and another hard hits training camp, this time with the Seattle Seahawks. Documentary fans have an exciting new treat too, and it looks to be a must-see project, especially for fans of Tiger King.
August will see two main headliners. The first is the five parts. original docuseries god monsterswhich explores the shadowy world of exotic reptile smuggling following two rival kingpins. Episode 1 premieres August 6. The second main poster is the debut of the long-awaited DC series Lanternsthat brings the Green Lantern mythology to life in a grounded and mysterious way. Expect it to drop on August 16.
Comedian Whitmer Thomas returns August 14 with her second stand-up special, Type Terminal Crewwhich delves into his upbringing in a small Alabama town, and Conan O’Brien also returns August 21 with a new season of his gripping travel series. Conan O’Brien must go. Movie fans should expect new releases on streaming.
The next chilling installment of The strangers franchise, The Strangers: Chapter 2opens August 7 and Bob Odenkirk fans will be happy to know that his new neo-Western thriller Normal will be available to stream on August 14. Plus, Anne Hathaway’s new musical drama, Mother Marypremieres on August 21.
