Following the advertisement At CES in January, Gemini for Google TV is picking a series of visual updates.
At the moment, the Gemini icon appears on a top tab next to the screen saver and quick settings. Google is now moving “Gemini” to the top left corner next to Home, Live, and Apps.
Gemini’s responses for Google TV will now include a “mix of images, videos and text.” For example, this “richer visual aid” could show a live dashboard and where to look when you ask about sports, while recipe requests will be accompanied by video tutorials.

Similarly, Gemini responses are becoming more interactive with “deep dives” when you want to learn about a topic. The idea is to “turn passive viewing into meaningful screen time, allowing you to interact with the topics that fascinate you most.”
These “storytelling visual breakdowns” of educational topics can cover “health and wellness, economics, technology, and more.” Access them by tapping “Drill Down” on the answers or by going to the Gemini tab to “Learn.”
From deconstructing the physiological impacts of cold immersion to illustrating how matcha is created from scratch, Gemini offers a personalized, interactive tour with guided follow-up questions so you and your family can watch it together on the big screen.
Finally, Google is improving sports highlights for “fans who live for the highlights, but can’t always watch the action live.” An expansion of news recaps, you’ll get “timely narrated recaps of your favorite leagues of the season,” including quick game recaps and player news.
This covers “NBA, NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, MLS and NWSL.” You can find sports briefs in the Gemini tab.
Starting today, richer visual responses are rolling out to Gemini for Google TV in the US and Canada.
You can also start exploring deep dives and sports highlights on Gemini-enabled devices in the US, with broader device support coming this spring.
Meanwhile, the Gemini voice assistant for Google TV is coming to Australia, New Zealand and Britain this spring, and to more countries later in the year.
