Dbrand really wants you to return to ‘Touch Grass’ this year

The era of terrible April Fools’ Day tech pranks is almost over, and while Dbrand has had some stinkers, the “Touch Grass” skins are one of the few decent things to come out of this boring phenomenon.

Re-released after a limited release last year, Touch Grass designs offer a faux experience of a lush green grass on your phone, tablet, laptop, or even gaming console. Dbrand has combined this with another new “Blue Sky” skin that comes free with every Touch Grass skin you purchase. The combination aims to replicate the outdoors and could be ideal for the tech-obsessed recluse.

The skins are available as a simple case for your phone or as skins for Dbrand’s various cases and other accessories. This even includes the Rubik’s Cube clone with a “Flat Earth” configuration with sky and grass options to choose from.

Dbrand says sky-based skin is – as usual – a tongue-in-cheek reminder that we’re all glued to our devices and maybe we should look up a little more. Even the Windows 98 website shopping experience is back, which helps tie everything together. It is a setback, but also a call to action. It’s not that it replaces the real thing.

Yes, this is an April Fools’ Day joke, but it is a real product that you can actually buy (again). Like last year, Touch Grass skins will only be available for a limited time. You can get your own by visiting the dedicated home page on Dbrand website here.
