Smartphone customization studio Caviar has announced a custom version of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max that features a small piece of turtleneck that Steve Jobs actually wore. Here are the details.
‘A tribute to Apple’s legendary first smartphone’
If you have $9,630 burning in your pocket, Caviar could help you.
The company has announced JOBS (through Macmundo), a custom line of iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models that takes inspiration from the first iPhone and presents a (very) small part of the story.
According to what appear to be renders available on the product’s website, the back of the device features a black panel that, combined with a silver titanium body finished with a PVD coating, reinterprets “the aesthetics of the first iPhone 2G as a contemporary luxury object.

The black panel also features a reproduction of Steve Jobs’ signature, and embedded in the Apple logo is a small square cutout of “Jobs’ turtleneck from the NeXT computer launch, authenticated by certificate.”
We reviewed archival footage of Steve Jobs’ presentation of NeXT Computer on October 12, 1988, and it appears he wore a tuxedo at that particular event.
However, he later transitioned into his signature turtleneck while still at NeXT.
Coming back to the device, Caviar decided to make only 9 units of the custom device, as a tribute to its launch date, January 9, 2017.
At the moment, the company says there are only 2 models left.
The devices feature custom wallpaper made exclusively for these 9 units and come in deluxe packaging that also includes an “exclusive Caviar key.”
