Galaxy S26 unpacked is ready; So we’re moving forward with these rumors about Samsung’s Summer Unpacked potentially taking place in the UK.
Rumors of Korea economic times are turning heads today (April 9), suggesting that Samsung is preparing to host its next Unpacked event in London, UK (via 9to5Google). This will supposedly take place at the end of July, potentially July 22nd. The most interesting thing is the devices and accessories that the publication’s rumor highlights.
Samsung’s summer Unpacked is reserved for its foldable products (mostly), so the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and, presumably, the Flip 8 will debut; however, the “wide” fold was also mentioned.

The publication claims that not only will we see the debut of the “Wide” Fold with the usual suspects, but the S Pen could also be involved. The publication says that Samsung is preparing to “sequentially introduce the S Pen after introducing the Wide Fold this year.” This statement is interesting for more reasons than one. What’s unclear is whether this means the Wide Fold will receive an S Pen or if it will just be the Fold 8.
a lot to fold

This S Pen angle is interesting since, after its Summer 2025 Unpacked for Fold 7 and Flip 7, Samsung’s MX business division CEO Kang Min-seok said: talked about the pencil. There were hopes that the Fold 7 would include this useful tool, but that didn’t happen. Shortly after, Kang Min-seok said that Samsung was “thinking” about investing its R&D resources to return the S Pen to the foldable format. This would not be so simple. Kang Min-seok emphasized that the stylus would have to be thinner with “innovative technology.”
Additionally, the Fold 7 was quite thin and that was attributed to the lack of an S Pen. Samsung said the foldable model should be seen as a “trade-off” considering everything it comes equipped with. Alleged Fold 8 renderings paint the device as similar to its 2025 variant, but it is the “wide” fold That’s been catching our attention.
More and more reports suggest that the phone will feature a 7.6-inch display with a 4,800 mAh battery. A 4:3 aspect ratio was supposed to justify the idea of a wider fold for users.
Android Central’s opinion
A summer launch in London, eh? Last year, Samsung’s foldable devices were showcased in New York. The South Korean publication claims that London is a “key factor” for Samsung’s presence in Europe, so perhaps there is something there that it wants to consolidate. These rumors only add fuel to the fire, while we all wait for what Samsung is officially preparing for its summer Unpacked.
