After three seasons on televisioneveryone’s favorite killer doll chuky is coming back.
Franchise creator Don Mancini revealed this over the weekend at Steel City Con. He is currently writing the next installment of the child’s play franchise, which will supposedly have a “loose connection” to the US show. Said show, in case you forgot or didn’t know, ended with Chucky and Tiffany (he back in his doll body, she in a prototype Bella doll) leaving with Caroline while the main kids had their souls stuffed into puppet dolls.
Not counting the 2019 remake, child’s play has maintained its continuity for decades, and this upcoming film will function as a reboot similar to the 2013 film. curse of chucky. According BloodyDisgustingMancini’s goal is to do it in a similar tone to Curse and the first two child’s play cinema. And most importantly, this next movie will be in theaters: Curse was shown in theaters in some countries, but is otherwise a direct-to-DVD film, as is the sequel Cult of Chucky. In fact, the last film in the original continuity to properly make it to the big screen was chucky seed all the way back in 2004.
