Xbox is in what some might call a bit of a redemption story lately. With a new CEO at the helmThe company has reallocated resources and seems committed to delivering some of the most requested features by fans.
That push began last month with customization updates, which have now been rolled out to all users. This month, Xbox Insiders also received the long-awaited update the platform achievement systemsomething that many felt was already necessary.
However, not all Insiders seem to have a smooth experience.

An Xbox Insider program user, @1tristan on X (formerly Twitter)reported that the update had crashed their system. The problem was so serious that they even considered upgrading from an Xbox Series S to a Xbox Series to solve your problem.
Hi @XboxSupport 💚, @xboxinsider crashed my system, can you think about upgrading my series to x series? #loyal @xbox @asha_shar pic.twitter.com/PrrcHNBEexApril 18, 2026
Typically, complaints like this can go unnoticed. Given the scale of platforms like Xbox, it’s difficult to respond to every issue. This time, however, he caught the attention of Asha Sharma.
After previously saying “I listen to you” Taking on the role, Sharma responded directly to the user and said, “investigating this.”
It’s not something you normally expect to see from a CEO and it stands out. Hopefully, it also means @1tristan the problem is solved.
It’s not much, of course, but I thought it was worth highlighting. Since taking over as CEO of Xbox, Asha Sharma seems very involved and I feel like there has been a slight shift in the way Xbox is perceived lately.
That said, there is still a lot of work to do.
There are still difficulties conversations happening throughout the community, especially around exclusives. It’s something I mentioned recently when I talked about reports that Starfield sold around 140,000 copies on PlayStation 5If Alinea Analytics is to be believed.
With all that in mind, I think it’s important to point out these little moments when they happen.
So how do you feel about Sharma as CEO so far?
Do things like this make you more confident or is it just another drop in the bucket that doesn’t really move the needle? Let me know in the comments and be sure to participate in our survey!
