You’ll be hard-pressed to find developers more committed to bringing real-world historical locations to life as accurately and authentically as possible than those working at Warhorse Studios, the creators of both 2018 films. Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its critically acclaimed 2025 sequel Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Both medieval role-playing games are famous and popular for many reasons, but one of the things about them that I have always respected in particular is that a painstaking effort was made to ensure that their depictions of 15th-century Bohemia were faithful to the actual locations, to the point that You can compare game screenshots with real photos and find only minuscule differences..

🏰 Pirkštejn Castle. You know it as home in the first KCD but now it needs help. Rebuild work is already underway and during the Steam Medieval festival, we will donate $1 for every copy of the KCD1 base game sold. 📷If you haven’t played yet or know someone… pic.twitter.com/SuKDd9QV1fApril 20, 2026
On Monday morning, the studio fiance donate $1 from every sale of the first Kingdom Come game to Pirkštejn Castle and its restoration. Warhorse will be doing this from now until April 27 at 10am PT; That is the duration of the Steam Medieval Fest, in which a wide variety of medieval-themed games have been put on sale at deep discounts.
“If you haven’t played yet or know someone who hasn’t, now is the time. Get it on sale and help preserve a piece of royal history!” the developers wrote.
The KCD usually costs $29.99, although thanks to the Steam Medieval Fest, you can get it for just $5.99 right now; that’s 80% off and an incredible value (KCD2 is also 50% off; up to $29.99 from $59.99). After all, Kingdom Come: Deliverance remains one of the crispest, most system-based RPGs in the genre, and it still holds up wonderfully even eight years later.
Although the game’s direction-based hand-to-hand combat isn’t as refined as that of the sequel, it’s still a lot of fun to engage in once you get the hang of it. Some of its systems aren’t as developed either, but it’s still an incredibly dynamic and reactive experience compared to many other RPGs.
All in all, it’s a fantastic game and although do I think Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a step forward in every aspect, the original is worth getting and playing. especially Although it is that affordable (it is also in Xbox Game Passif you didn’t know). And well, while the sale is active, the purchase of the title will help restore one of the greatest castles that appears in it. Very good, right?
Are you a big fan of Kingdom Come: Deliverance RPGs? If you haven’t played them yet, will you be getting them during Steam Medieval Fest while they’re heavily discounted? Will you be purchasing a copy of the first game to help preserve Pirkštejn Castle? Let me know below.
