Anyone looking for a preview of what’s new star wars movie, The Mandalorian and Groguthe same clip has almost certainly been shown in recent weeks: a snowy action scene that opens the film.
First, played for members of the press. Next, was screened at CinemaCon. After that, Disney I uploaded a part to Disney+. It will screen in theaters for fans on Monday night, and now some of it is online as well, as you can see below.
And of course, moments from this scene are scattered throughout all the trailers that have been released. Yes, the first minutes of The Mandalorian and Grogu have become the centerpiece of Disney’s marketing for the film, which, we believe, has its pros and cons.
On the one hand, keeping much of the movie a secret makes going to the movies that much more exciting. We still don’t have a real idea what kind of adventure Mando and Grogu are embarking on. Plus, it’s a really fun action scene. One that clearly reminds me The empire strikes backwith all the snow and AT-ATs, but it also feels completely mandalorian.
On the other hand, what is hidden here? Is there anything exciting that’s being held back or is this simply the best part of the movie? You kind of get that vibe. Wouldn’t a clip from another scene get people’s imaginations racing with potential and possibilities? However, our educated guess about all of this is that a large portion of the film is being hidden. And we think it centers on Mando and Grogu teaming up with Rotta the Hutt for an adventure. The three of them, together, and the filmmakers simply don’t want any of that to come to light. But we also thought that, if that’s really true, it could be a very fun and intriguing watch.
Ultimately, though, it all comes down to how you like to consume movies before they’re released. If you like spoilers of any level, this has been torture. The same scene, over and over again, that reveals absolutely nothing. However, if you hate spoilers, knowing that almost everything you’ve seen is from the first 10 minutes of the movie is very exciting. There are surely many more surprises to come in the remaining 110 minutes.
Which side of the argument are you on? Would you like us to see more of the movie? Or is sticking to this scene a smart move to keep us guessing? Let us know below.
The Mandalorian and Grogu opens on May 22.
