
Apple TV has its best summer lineup this year, with compelling new and returning series coming to the streamer. More releases are expected to be announced soon, including the long-delayed the wise. But as things stand today, here’s everything coming to Apple TV this summer.
June
cape fear

- When: June 5

Inspired by the 1991 remake directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg, a storm is brewing for happily married lawyers Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is released from prison and out for revenge.
Sugar (season 2)

“Sugar” is a contemporary and unique version of one of the most popular and important genres in literary, film and television history: the private detective story. Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator who follows the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, she will also discover Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others buried a long time ago.

Silo (season 3)

The third season of “Silo” continues the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances, while also revealing an origin story set centuries earlier. In the present, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) survives her forced “cleansing” but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from the rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) uncover a conspiracy that drags them into a chain of events with catastrophic and irreversible consequences.
Trying (season 5)

Season five finds Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) dealing with the aftermath of Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler’s (Cooper Turner) biological mother, Kat (Charlotte Riley), showing up on their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings to their family life.
Lucky

- When: July 15
- That: television show
- Gender: crime drama
Written by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas and based on the best-selling novel by Marissa Stapley, “Lucky” centers on a young woman (Anya Taylor-Joy) who left behind the life of crime she grew up in years ago, but must now embrace her darker criminal side one last time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.

Former tennis prodigy Dusty Boyd (Jake Johnson) has been forced to coach unruly kids at his father Chuck’s (Ed Harris) suburban country club. Desperate for his father’s approval, Dusty blindly supports Chuck’s revenge against the new fad taking over the club: pickleball. But when Dusty aggravates an old injury that prevents him from playing tennis, he resorts to the unthinkable in the name of rehabilitation. Not only does he try pickleball, but, thanks in part to his charming new partner, Candace (Mary Steenburgen), he discovers that he really enjoys it. Torn between two worlds, Dusty is forced to finally confront the ghosts of his past athletic failures, including his childhood enemy, Andy Roddick. Ultimately, Dusty finds himself embroiled in a desperate battle for the future of the club, his father’s affections, and his own identity.

Ted Lasso (season 4)

Women in Blue (season 2)

The second season of “Women in Blue” will follow Maria (Mori), now promoted to lieutenant, as she finds herself torn between the rules she has sworn to uphold and a relentless drive toward the truth when the body of a student activist is discovered, and the Blues are dragged into an investigation dating back to the 1968 student massacre. Before they can understand what they have found, the body of a person connected to that brutal chapter in history is found, sending shockwaves through the department. Someone is delivering justice right to the police’s doorstep and the Blues are the department’s last hope to stop the killer. As María, Valentina (Natalia Téllez), Gabina (Amorita Rasgado) and Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana) fight battles both inside and outside the compound, buried truths rise to the surface and they are forced to face an uncomfortable question: in a system plagued by corruption, what is the cost of fighting for your ideals?
Dark Matter (season 2)

Hailed as one of the best science fiction novels and celebrating the 10th anniversary of its release this year, “Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken. In the first season, the series followed Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who, one night, while walking home through the streets of Chicago, is kidnapped in an alternate version of his life. Astonishment quickly turns into nightmare as he tries to return to his reality amidst the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. Season two begins with the Dessens as they adjust to a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe until the unimaginable forces them to flee once again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Jennifer Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her over the edge, threatening to shatter her fragile stability. Elsewhere, Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home. With Blair (Amanda Brugel) determined to stop him, Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) relentlessly pursues his grand vision of creating a perfect world.
