After updating AI mode interfaceGoogle is now rolling out a full-screen redesign for Search Live that’s pretty vibrant.
Since its launch, Search Live has used an arc-shaped waveform while Google waits for voice input and while you speak. When making a response, the arc curves downward.
Old
Search Live now features a perimeter glow that turns blue when you ask a question. It then changes to a gradient waveform at the bottom when Google responds.
The new design allows the video stream to take up the entire screen instead of just the top half. This gradient is actually quite vibrant and is a bit reminiscent of Circle to Search.
Redesign
The Unmute, Video, and Transcript buttons remain at the bottom. Other controls are still located in the top right corner, including the recently introduced “CC” for live subtitles. There are minor spacing adjustments for the web results carousel and other prompts.
We’re seeing this redesign of Search Live with version 17.20 of the Google app on Android, but it hasn’t been widely rolled out yet.
