After his introduction on the webAI Inbox is coming to Gmail for Android and iOS. In the navigation drawer, “AI Inbox” appears below Inbox, just like on the desktop. The most notable hotspot is in the bottom bar of Gmail.
It appears between Gmail and Chat for a four-tab layout with Meet rounding things out. This is a pretty prominent way to access what Google imagines as your future inbox, where tasks take priority over individual messages.
The actual interface is similar to the desktop web version. You will receive a greeting that summarizes how many pending tasks and topics you have. The first section is “Suggested To-Dos,” with “Catch-Up Topics” below.
AI Inbox is now available in beta for Google AI Ultra Subscribers.
Meanwhile, Google is doing Help me write more personally when composing emails with:
- Contextualization of the topic: The feature can now connect to Google Drive and Gmail based on your prompt. It will then use the context of these apps to automatically insert relevant information into the email draft, reducing the time you spend switching between apps to find specific details.
- Tone and style customization.: Help Me Write Now can also create custom email drafts that match the tone and style of your previously written emails.
This will help reduce “application context switching between workspaces to reference correct sources, typing, copy and paste, and formatting.” In the workplace, Google promotes use cases such as:
- Respond to customer and partner inquiries
- Distribute information, documents or materials to collaborators.
- Report to leadership on project-related progress, milestones, and issues.
- Seeking help or answers from the team
- Provide or ask for feedback from your peers.
- Share team announcements or progress reports with the organization.
- Presenting new projects
- Exploring potential partnerships
- Teacher-Parent Communications
- Grant proposals
