Some games station Users have received marketing emails from Sony encouraging them to upgrade from PS4 to PS5 ahead of the launch of grand theft car 6and the messages mention a release date of November 19, 2026. The emails appear to be aimed at users who have wishlisted the game but do not yet own a PS5. User X shared screenshots of the emails. @videotech.
The email says: “Grand Theft Auto 6 is on your wish list. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19, 2026.”
A second notification appearing on PlayStation consoles addresses users as “one of the best Grand Theft Auto 5 players” and similarly encourages them to upgrade to PS5.
What Sony’s GTA 6 Marketing Emails Confirm
The mention of a specific date of November 19 in Sony’s marketing materials, shared as part of an ongoing partnership with Rockstar that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently reaffirmed to Bloomberg, indicates that the studio appears confident that the launch will go ahead as planned.
However, Rockstar has not released any official updates beyond previous statements regarding the release window. So far, the emails have only been seen by a limited number of PlayStation users. Neither Sony, Rockstar nor Take-Two have made any public comment on the emails or confirmed broader marketing efforts.
Other signs that Rockstar could be preparing a bigger push for GTA 6
Fans have pointed out several signs that Rockstar could be preparing for a marketing push:
- Sony removed GTA 6 from its “Just Announced” label on the PS5 store.
- A graphic titled “2026 Great Games” on the PlayStation Store looks similar to the GTA 6 logo, although it appeared months before the current speculation began.
- Take-Two announced in February that marketing for GTA 6 would ramp up during the summer of 2026.
- Rockstar has also teased a major update for GTA Online scheduled for the same period.
None of these signals constitute official confirmation of an imminent announcement. Rockstar has yet to release a third GTA 6 trailer or open pre-orders.
The game will initially be released exclusively on consoles, with no confirmed PC release date.
