If you’ve been hanging around with news and new reveals, this meta announcement continues with a sneak peek at what’s next for VR and more.
Like many other companies, Meta Connect is a time for consumers and developers to see what’s next from the company. This year will be no different, like Meta revealed that its Connect 2026 event will take place on September 23-24. Those who want to attend will have to head to Menlo Park, California, to the company’s campus.
All we have now are small advances. Meta says users will get a good look at the company’s “next computing platform” during the show. What’s more, Meta will hold “developer evening sessions and keynotes.” This is when we should expect to see their development of virtual reality, wearable devices, metaverse details, and (of course) artificial intelligence. Meta is aware of his big push into virtual reality (how couldn’t he be?), and says we’ll see how he can push that industry forward.
More details are expected to emerge from Meta as the year progresses. While we wait, there are a few things we need to keep in mind.
This Connect could be huge too
Android Central’s Nicholas Sutrich is often engrossed in Meta’s VR happenings and expects the company to have a slew of hardware reveals during Connect 2026. That appears to be the case, considering these are “wearable devices” and VR, potentially indicating glimpses of new smart glasses and headsets. However, Sutrich focuses on the last part, the virtual reality headsets. He expects Meta to give us something about his long-rumored Ultralight Quest during the keynote.
As far as its AI is concerned, we have seen, and also in detail, where Meta is trying to position it with the Muse Spark LLM. was giving Gemini vibes, but with the style of Meta. Meta stated during its launch that Muse Spark was designed to usher us into an era of AI where “people come first.” Muse Spark can reportedly leverage multiple agents to tackle given tasks with “accuracy and speed.” if you saw Target earnings in the first quarter This year, you know you won’t spare any expense with AI (literally). The company’s spending soared 35%, with $33 billion spent between January 1 and March 31, 2026.
Android Central’s opinion
If you’re ever interested in seeing what others in the industry offer, Meta’s Connect is pretty good for that. The company’s ambitions are great and there is no hiding that it wants to dominate that virtual reality space. I think their virtual reality headsets are great at what they can do. Even his glasses are pretty. It’s only May, so I’m interested to see what the company ends up coming up with to generate excitement for the event.
