AYANEO’s expensive Windows handhelds are so close to launch

AYANEO is one of the many portable device manufacturers affected by the RAM crisis and was forced to temporarily suspend pre-orders for the hyper-premium version. NEXT 2 Windows handheld computer. The crisis has also affected its KONKR adjustment Laptop PC, since it did not have a shipping date in April. The manufacturer has now released an update on these two devices.

AYANEO confirmed the IndieGogo which has begun production of key components for the NEXT 2. The company added that it now aims to begin trial production of the wearable device in early June with mass production in mid-June.

“Based on current progress, we believe that starting shipping in June remains possible and we will make every effort to achieve this goal,” the company explained.

The company stopped taking pre-orders in March, but says it still receives inquiries from people who want to buy the handheld. AYANEO says these users can contact customer service with the configuration and color they want, but the manufacturer says it can’t actually guarantee these customers will get a device.

“We will continue to communicate with our suppliers to evaluate whether additional production is possible in the future, especially as RMA and storage costs decrease. If circumstances permit, we may notify some customers if additional order opportunities are available,” he added.

AYANEO also provided an update for its KONKR Fit Windows wearable device in Discord. The handheld was scheduled to begin shipping in April, but the company now estimates production will begin at the end of the month. This presumably means a June shipping window.

Either way, people who pre-ordered these wearables are spending quite a bit of money. The base NEXT 2 (1TB/32GB) has a recommended price of $1,999 and an early bird price of $1,799. Meanwhile, the KONKR Fit starts at $999.
