The new usage limits have affected Google’s Gemini AI models, and following user concerns, Google has increased those limits specifically for Antigravity, twice.
In addition to many Gemini-related announcements this week at Google I/O, it was also revealed that Gemini would get compute-based usage limits for its various tools and capabilities. Users are a little frustrated by this, but Google is listening to feedback in one specific area.
Within Antigravity, Google’s artificial intelligence-based coding tool, Gemini usage limits have been increased twice since they came into effect earlier this week.
on WednesdayGoogle increased Gemini model fee caps for Antigravity 3x, in addition to reinstating weekly quotas for all users. This happened quickly after new limits were implemented, largely due to users reaching their limits shortly after they were enacted. Some were finding they could reach the limits in just an hour of working on Antigravity, a pretty drastic change from what was available before.
Tonight, Google has returned to Tripled usage limits for Gemini models in Antigravity, this time for the weekly quota. Google’s Varun Mohan, a DeepMind director working on Antigravity, acknowledged that users could reach their weekly limits “after a couple of work sessions” and also confirmed that Google has reset quotas for all paid plans for the second time this week.
The higher quotas in Antigravity will likely help many continue to get the most out of these tools, but the limits will inevitably still have an impact, especially as they remain lower than before as users quickly pointed out. That will be the case for the Gemini toolset as a whole, as usage limits have not changed anywhere outside of Antigravity at this time.
