As part of the Expressive neural redesignGemini Live on Android can now access more first-party and third-party “connected apps.”
This week’s update lets you “easily go from typing a quick question to diving deep into a flowing conversation, and back again, without missing a beat.” Gemini Live is directly integrated into the text chat experience with a new floating interface.
Previously, Gemini Live only integrated with Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep, and Maps, as well as third-party equivalents from Samsung, Honor, OnePlus, Oppo, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi.
The list of the first match now includes Home, Hotels, Flights, Workspace, Imaging, Shopping, Utilities, YouTube and YouTube Music, and it also supports Spotify.
This is the same list of services you will find at gemini.google.com/apps. In particular, Utilities on Android unlock timers and alarms. Gemini Live is now almost on par with the Gemini app, specifically the overlay.
One exception is the ability to send messages using Gemini Live, which was a capability Google first mentioned during Made by Google 2024.
