Emilia Clarke rose to fame in the very beginning of her career playing Daenerys Targaryen in game of Thrones. But the final season of the hit HBO series wasn’t, shall we say, very well received, largely due to the way Dany’s hero-to-villain arc was handled. That wasn’t Clarke’s fault, of course, but it still meant that fans didn’t have the best association with her. And although his career has continued and he has been successful in dramas and romantic comedies, his career in big franchises has not been the best, with roles in films such as Solo: A Star Wars Story, Terminator Genesisand Marvel series secret invasion.
However, in a new interview with VarietyClarke sounds like she’s not letting the end of Thrones or any of his other high-profile failures bother her too much. “They gave me the seasons and I, to the best of my ability, empathized, understood and followed every choice she made so that it felt like mine. I felt like that was my job,” she said.
Looking back, he added: “I’ve been down all the winding paths to get to the place I’m at now, which is finally being able to be very grateful for everything he’s given me. game of Thrones He made and has given me. I no longer feel trapped in it, nor trapped in the result of being in it. I feel very lucky that it happened to me; even luckier to have had time to understand what that was, and now I feel firmly on the other side.”
