Someone allegedly found a Pixel Watch 5 in the ocean

Prototype devices find a way to leak in different ways, like the infamous iPhone in a bar. Now, however, what appears to be a Pixel Watch 5 that was lost… in the ocean has been found.

Two hands-on images of this alleged Pixel Watch 5 (45mm) were published on Twitter/X by Gearbox – the studio behind borderlands) founder: Randy Pitchford. He explains that the smartwatch was found underwater by a friend who was “diving near the island of Saint Martin.”

“Pixel Watch 5” is clearly printed on the bottom of the watch.

The images present no obvious red flags, and Pitchford’s reflection in the image adds a level of authenticity: He’s unlikely to post an edited image.

As far as changes go, the design of the Watch 5 looks identical and we can’t see anything in the software due to the device apparently having a dead battery. Having been found in the ocean, it’s amazing that it works in any capacity. Pitchford says it still shows the correct time in the low-power state.

The Pixel Watch 5 is expected to launch later this year, but no changes have been made yet. The only real expectation is Snapdragon Wear Elite, which Google has teased as “opening up new possibilities, delivering the performance, battery life and connectivity essential for the next generation of Wear OS.” Presumably, that refers to Gemini Intelligence.
