I/O 2026 has come and gone without even saying anything about Google’s next smart speaker, but it looks like one retailer has you covered.
Over the weekend, it was reported that a Canadian product page (accidentally?) revealed when the market could watch the debut of Google Home Speaker. A publication of 9to5Google highlights this, indicating that you discovered a product page on Best buy Canada for Google Home Speaker. He the store lists the device in Hazel and Porcelain, but what’s interesting is the “Release Date: June 25, 2026” marker.

It makes sense that Best Buy probably made a mistake with the reveal date and removed it as soon as they realized the mistake. I expected to see something about the Home Speaker during I/O, but Google was surprisingly silent. It will also be interesting to see where Gemini for Home will be by then.
The product is listed for $139. You will need to remember that this is in CAD, not USD. The publication did a little more digging and noted that this date does not appear on the US Best Buy website. However, this date does not appear on the Canadian version either. We checked today (June 1) and the retailer removed the date, probably because it wasn’t supposed to be displayed yet.
The rest of the product list is pretty standard and offers a little blurb: “360-degree brilliant sound combines Gemini Magic in this Google Home smart speaker. “Gemini Live lets you get expert help, chat naturally, and generate ideas (subscription required)” Next, Google went into some specs for the speaker.
A true AI speaker
TO conversational speaker for home describes Google’s upcoming device as a T. The company announced the speaker late last year when Gemini for Home debuted. Gemini is the core of this Home Speaker, which has been equipped with “custom processing” to handle user tasks. When it comes to its design, the Home Speaker is quite simple with a rounded design and an animated ring of light underneath.
This ring of light is for Gemini. Google says it will provide visual feedback while the AI listens, “reasons,” or answers your question. Interestingly, Google’s Canadian Best Buy listing did not show all four colors. It only showed Hazel and Porcelain, although Google also teased the product in Jade and Berry.
The Home Speaker was announced to arrive in “spring 2026,” but it’s more like summer 2026 (unless things change?). Google will also integrate Home Speaker with TV Streamer, which it says was a highly requested feature.
