
Following a big redesignGoogle Wallet is expanding digital ID support to select regions in Europe and updating the Google Pay online payment experience.

Digital IDs will work in partnership with Sparkasse Bank in Europe to streamline the verification process. Users will be able to verify their age through the banking corporation’s own process without revealing any important information about themselves.
Google says digital IDs will begin rolling out to users “this summer.”
Google is also making changes to the Google Pay payment experience in Europe. Merchants using Airwallex and Adyen will see the new format first. The user interface appears clean, making payment and address details easy to view and submit without requiring a lot of time to enter.

Security on the backend has also been updated with an update to Google Payments authentication. Google says its own payment authentication feature meets EU standards and reduces verification time by 50%. The benefit is to make the payment without having to search or enter an OTP. Users in the UK and Poland should see an updated direct Google Pay experience “in the coming months.
