Next to Pixel 10 Series At its launch last year, Google briefly teased a new smart home speaker. The company hasn’t updated its Nest Audio or Nest Mini line since 2022, but then confirmed in October 2025 that a new Home speaker with Gemini technology was on the way.
At the time, Google said the speaker would launch sometime in spring 2026, and now it looks like that timeline might finally be lining up. Several of Google’s older smart speakers, including the Nest Mini, have started showing up as out of stock or unavailable at major US retailers, including the Google Store and Best buy.

The leaked listing also suggests that the speaker will be available in Hazel and Porcelain color options and will feature 360-degree audio along with Gemini and Gemini Live integration. Users will also reportedly be able to pair two speakers for a more immersive audio experience.
Android Central’s opinion
More than Gemini, I am interested in audio quality. It’s become surprisingly difficult to find good smart speakers lately. If Google nails the audio and sticks to the rumored $100 price, this could be a very easy recommendation.
Google hasn’t officially announced a release date yet, but it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait much longer. The company also previously revealed two additional colors, Jade (light green) and Berry (pink/red).
We will keep you updated once Google officially announces the new home speaker and confirms its release date.
