Arsian greetings and welcome to the big Ars Technica 2026 reader survey! It’s been almost four years since we last ran a big site-wide survey like this, asking our readers (you!) what they like about the work we do and where we could improve. This type of monitoring is absolutely vital to ensure we steer the ship correctly and we take the results very seriously. (Last time we did this, we got several thousand responses, and it’s incredibly valuable data for us!)
It is also not necessary to have been a reader since 1998 to give an opinion. Whether you’re a new reader, a forum veteran, a front page comment expert, a newbie sysadmin, or a CEO, we want to hear what you have to say, no matter who you are. The only requirement is that you are a human! (Aliens are also welcome, although we don’t actually define any demographic categories for extraterrestrial beings. I guess we’ll address this issue if it arises.) There are some text fields. Yes, we will read what you write there!
To try, maybe to sing.
Fortunately, this is not a long survey; only a handful of specific questions. We do not collect any personally identifiable information and responses will only be viewed in the aggregate. None of the data will be analyzed by anyone except us, and none of it will be sold or otherwise distributed outside of Ars. (We are using SurveyMonkey for our survey platform, as we have done many times in the past.)
