The fans have no blades and come with the model number MI-DHC02, according to the product safety agency. The model number can be found on a white label on the bottom of the product or on the packaging it comes in.
The company received two reports of fans catching fire, along with one fan causing smoke damage to property, but no injuries have been reported so far.
The fans were sold nationwide at stores such as TJMaxx, Marshalls and Sierra from October 2024 to October 2025 and retailed for around $30. The fans were manufactured in China.

The steps to obtain a refund involve the consumer using a permanent market to write their own initials on the fan. Consumers will also be asked to write today’s date on the fan, as well as the word “recalled.”

Merkury Innovations makes other products, such as bladeless handheld fans, wireless headphones, and phototherapy lamps, although none of those products are included in this recall. The company also makes things like Apple Watch bands, USB cables, and smartphone cases.
