OpenAI says it is releasing a new version of its GPT-5.5 Instant model. The model originally arrived on May 5 (5/5) before receiving a separate behavior change.

Next, GPT-5.5 Instant will receive a new tweak that OpenAI makes “much more fun to talk to.”
“Our most widely used model now better understands the intent behind a question and adapts its answer accordingly,” the company says. “It also handles complex restrictions more reliably and makes local shopping and recommendations more useful and consistent.”
