We have been anticipating the launch of Samsung’s next foldables for months. Tonight (June 30), the company started a new social media campaign and completely deleted its Instagram.
Samsung says it is “resetting” ahead of the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Fold 8. The company’s new social media campaign focuses on Instagram as it claims its account feed will be completely wiped. This will take place before Samsung’s wave of “cryptic teaser videos.” While this may seem a little strange, Samsung says there is a purpose behind this campaign.
The company is interested in telling a different type of story. One that is inspired by “familiar cultural touchpoints.” Instead of revealing various details about its upcoming foldable devices, Samsung says it will spark theories and speculation. This campaign will include a series of “simple and very visual” mystery posts that appear mundane. However, there is a deeper meaning to these tracks and posts, which Samsung says will require users to “decode.”
Certain aspects of these cryptic posts will uncover patterns that users will have to be discerning to spot. Samsung says it won’t explain anything until it’s ready. When that time comes, it will dive into the features of its upcoming foldable devices. Until then, you might want to try emulating the great Sherlock Holmes.
The campaign starts on Samsung mobile and Samsung Mobile USA.
What does all this mean?
There are a lot of things we’d like to see in Samsung’s next wave of foldable devices. However, there is a particularly strong focus on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (and all the rumors surrounding the extra things). In terms of design, we don’t expect the Fold 8 to stray too far from what the Fold 7 offered. The Fold 7 It was incredibly popular. when it debuted, for more reasons than one.
The device featured a slimmer form factor, refined hinge and display upgrades, which wowed consumers. It would seem strange for Samsung to walk away from this, but we’ll have to see what this social campaign has in store for us. On the other hand, a Samsung executive, shortly after the debut of the Flip 7 and Fold 7, said the company was “thought of“bring back the S Pen. Such a return would require the device to be thickened again after becoming so thin.
Android Central’s opinion
At the time of writing this post, Samsung’s social media accounts are completely deleted. There is nothing there. And it’s fun to watch, considering they have almost 2 million followers on one of them. Samsung is looking to create a stir. He wants attention, he wants publicity, eyes, press. It encourages us to “follow them.” So I will do it.
