Google launches Pixel 10.4 camera

Pixel Camera 10.4 is now rolling out more widely via Google Play Store as a minor update.

We do not see any user changes or new features in this version. With the June 17 Android UpdateGoogle listed three camera fixes:

  • Fix for a camera stability issue that causes the system to crash under certain conditions: Pixel 9-10a
  • Fixed an issue that caused the camera app to freeze when changing zoom levels during video recording: Pixel 10-10a
  • Fix for an issue that causes the camera service to occasionally fail, affecting overall system stability: Pixel 6-10a

That’s not particularly surprising, since the next big opportunity for updates will come after the launch of the Pixel 11. We have a Material 3 Expressive redesign (version 10.1) of Pixel Camera last October, so another visual renovation is not expected. That said, if Google makes any changes, it would debut on 2026 phones.

Any changes and new features for existing devices would come with the next Pixel Drop expected in September.
