
He iPhone 16 The launch event saw many announcements from Apple. There’s a new camera control on the new iPhones, providing better access for taking photos and videos. Screens across the line are better than ever and more durable. Apple is showing a love for new colors this year, with plenty of options to choose from.
Apple Watch Series 10 It was a big update, with a bigger screen than ever. The body is the thinnest it’s ever been, things are faster inside, and it moves the antennas to the back of the case. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 got a new color option and a third-generation Apple Watch SE never materialized.
AirPods also saw big changes. Airpods 4 get active noise cancellation and launch an even cheaper $129 model without ANC. The AirPods Max receive a minor update with USB-C and new colors, while the AirPods Pro 2 got a third version with new hearing technology added.

But Apple’s latest event doesn’t just usher in Apple’s latest devices; It also marks the end of a lot of products.

While everyone’s attention was on everything announced at the iPhone 16 event, I dove into the products that Apple discontinued after the event. Here’s everything I’ve found so far:

- AirPods (2nd generation)
- AirPods (3rd generation)
- Apple Watch Series 9
- iPhone 13
- iPhone 13 mini
- FineWoven Cases for iPhone 16 (so far)
While a Target listing online had us thinking that Apple’s wired EarPods might be on their way out, they’re still available in the Apple Store for now. Those who prefer wires can enjoy the $19 Apple headphones for a while longer.
