
Apple has released preliminary documentation for its new Ads Platform API, outlining a transition from the existing Campaign Management API. Here are the details.
What is this API for?
Apple Ads is Apple’s advertising platform that allows developers and marketers to promote apps on the App Store.
In addition to the company’s web interface, Apple Ads offers the Campaign Management API, currently in its fifth version, which provides a programmatic way to create, manage, and track campaigns.
However, as Discovered by Aaron PerrisApple has now confirmed that this API will stop working on January 26, 2027, as part of a broader transition to its new Ads Platform API, which will also handle Apple Maps Adsin addition to App Store ads.
In a new preview guide called Apple Ads Platform API Preview Release NotesThe company confirmed that the Apple Ads v5 Campaign Management API will disappear early next year and offers details about the transition to the new API:
The Apple Ads v5 Campaign Management API will be discontinued on January 26, 2027. We recommend migrating to the Platform API as soon as possible to avoid interruptions and take advantage of the improved functionality.
Apple adds that once the deadline passes, the existing API will stop working entirely, meaning users will no longer be able to manage campaigns or access reports through it.
In the new document, Apple provides a detailed overview of the transition, including examples of how the new Platform API differs from the existing Campaign Management API, as well as details on new features, expanded capabilities, and updated tools for developers.
