less than a week later releasing macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, Apple has now selected release candidates for its upcoming updates. Here are the details.
Release candidates rolling out now
Earlier today, Apple released the first developer beta versions of macOS 26.5, iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5etc.
In addition to these beta versions, Apple also released:
- macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 (Build 23J507)
- macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 (Build 24G707)
Since there were no beta builds prior to today’s RC release, these builds will likely be released to the general public sooner rather than later.
macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, released last week, fixed 60 different issues vulnerabilities on both systems, including at least one that could allow an app to gain root privileges.
Apple has not yet released release notes for macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 Release Candidates, but we’ll keep an eye on them and update this post once they’re available.
