What you need to know
- An alleged initial performance listing for Samsung’s Exynos 2700 suggests that it will have a 10-core build, with its fastest core clocking in at ~2.88GHz.
- The chip was also spotted with the Xclipse 970 GPU, while other rumors claim it could see a 12% performance boost.
- A Samsung executive stated earlier this year that the company is committed to developing future Exynos chips, which it wants to apply to several Galaxy devices.
It’s typical to expect a new SoC for phones every year, and it looks like Samsung isn’t slowing down with the development of its Exynos 2700.
Earlier this week, GSMArena reported that Samsung’s next chip, the 2nm Exynos 2700, has apparently appeared for its Geekbench performance test. The most interesting thing here is what the listing supposedly details: Samsung’s core structure for this iteration. The publication claims to have seen the chip with a 10-core CPU, similar to the Exynos 2600 that powers the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea.

Some of these clock speeds worry me a little. By my calculations, some of these supposed speeds are less than 2600. The post mentions that this list was based on an “engineers” build, so maybe these numbers are a little off. I certainly hope so too.
The Exynos 2700’s fastest cores were inferred to clock in at ~2.88GHz. The post adds that its remaining cores, potentially based on efficiency, sit at ~2.4GHz. The other side of the equation is the Xclipse 970 GPU, which may join the SoC when it debuts. GSMArena claims that there are rumors that the Exynos 2700 could be based on the 2600 offering a decent overall performance increase of 12%.

What has come to light now is information from the first test results, so it is best not to jump to conclusions yet. However, there are a couple of reports that could help us keep the Exynos 2700 in mind.
Exinos for everyone

In early March, reports emerged after Samsung’s vice president of hardware for Samsung’s MX business, Moon Sung-hoon, began speaking. about the future of its Exynos chipset. Moon said the company was beginning to formulate a “medium and long-term strategy” to develop new chips. More importantly, this would push Exynos chips to more Galaxy devices across the Samsung ecosystem.
Android Central’s opinion
Samsung is committed to an Exynos future. I think the deciding factor will be how well I can compete. I mean, the Galaxy S26 doesn’t feature the Exynos 2600 everywhere. We don’t have that in the US, we have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Sure, it’s “For Galaxy” which means it’s overclocked, but it’s a Qualcomm chip. Samsung does this because it knows how the market reacts. I wonder if we’ll get to the point where I can compete. and It is as high as Qualcomm.
Although Moon claims that developing chips is “difficult” and requires “several years” of work, Samsung wants to take on this task for Exynos. Shortly after, Exynos 2700 Rumors arose after a South Korean publication said it could work in its heat generation. Samsung is supposedly working on its HPB technology to reduce the heat that can reach the chip and its cooling. Exynos chips have suffered from high temperatures for years, so this is good to hear, even if it’s a rumor.
He Exynos 2600 It debuted late last year, with a hefty 39% increase in CPU capabilities.
