Studio Display XDR will add full calibration support in a future update

The brightness at the lower end of the grayscale was too high, so shadows aren’t as deep as they should be and some darker colors are too bright. But this is with the factory calibration. You will also be able to calibrate the Studio Display XDR, something I hope every professional or studio does. There is currently only a fine calibration setting available (for white point and luminance only), but full calibration (covering white point, primary colors, luminance and gamma) will be enabled with a later update.

There is no timeline on when this update will be available. Higgins too saw a white paper for Studio Display XDR with more details on calibration options and the color system.

Studio Display XDR will launch tomorrow, March 11. It is currently available for Reserve for $3,299.
