We’ve covered many digital desktop companions before, but none of them cover how a real pet acts. Sure, they’re cute and the perfect little addition to a home, but they also don’t cause as many problems as a real pet. After all, if it doesn’t ask you for food, beg you for a walk, or lie down on your keyboard while you’re trying to work, is it really a pet?
Fortunately, for all of us who want a digital companion that actually acts as a nuisance while we try to focus on a meeting call, there is this ESP32-powered desk companion. It combines an ESP32C3, a 1.3-inch OLED, some wheels, a 3D-printed case, and a touch receiver to create a desk companion that will annoy you until you rub its back. Yes, seriously.

Unlike other desk companions that tend to stay still, this one comes equipped with wheels that allow it to move around the desk. It uses touch controls to turn it on and off, and it can feel when you pat it on the back, which calms its fussiness a bit. He also has a cute face. That’s always an advantage.
