QualcommSnapdragon X2 processors are here. The first wave of reviews fueled by Qualcomm’s latest generation of chips arrived this week, and I can’t help but feel sorry for those who rely on some of the comments made in reviews and online throughout. redditX and other social networking sites.
Microsoft has worked hard to improve compatibility and has also convinced developers to adopt Windows 11 on Arm.
Windows 11 users on Arm PC spend 90 percent of your time on Arm-based apps. that run natively. Additionally, applications that do not run natively can often be run through prism emulationwhich has improved dramatically since its release.
But you wouldn’t know those facts if you only based your opinion on certain reviews and comments made on the web.
in this week Windows SettingI’ll share the frustrating cycle of explaining that Windows on Arm PCs is fine for most people. But first, here’s a quick recap of this week’s biggest news.
The most important news
Windows on Arm app gap?
It’s not my intention to fight with anyone in particular. And to be honest, I’ve seen so many ignorant statements about Windows 11 on Arm that it would take an entire article to list them.
I saw a review that lists a bunch of important apps that run natively, mentions Prism emulation, and then warns that some tools may not work, using an example that actually works. It sums up the problem perfectly.
My point is that many exaggerate app compatibility issues and, unfortunately, those who share false information are the same people people trust to make purchases.
Please do me a favor. The next time you see someone claim that there are no apps in Windows on Arm, ask them to list the specific apps they use that don’t work.
Some of us on the Windows Central team have done this on X, Reddit, and other forums and found that most people don’t list an app they trust that doesn’t work.
When you ask people who actually use PCs regularly, you’ll get a different answer than people who test them for a week or just read spec sheets and make assumptions. Don’t just take my word for it, check out the r/snapdragon subreddit.
There are some apps that still don’t work well on Windows 11 on Arm. In particular, many games that rely on the anti-cheat system do not work. Although even that gap has been closed with support for Easy anti-cheat.
Some legacy apps and devices that require drivers that have not been optimized may also have issues in Windows 11 on Arm computers.
I’m not here to claim that PCs with Snapdragon X chips are 100 percent compatible with all software and hardware. I am saying that the issue is overblown by criticism and it is clear that some critics have not done their homework.
Works on Windows on Arm maintains a list of compatible applications and games for the platform. There you will see well-known applications such as google chromehe Adobe Creative Suite and Spotify. We also have a collection of best Windows apps on Arm to help you.
Snapdragon X PCs are not gaming PCbut there is a growing library of games that can run on the chips.
For a large number of people, Windows 11 on Arm PC is a perfectly valid option. I would say that for many people they are the better option.

With our 5-star ASUS Zenbook A16 review out this week, I doubt you’ll be surprised that the laptop gets my recommendation. But I need to add some context to this awesome laptop.
In a peculiar twist, the Zenbook A16 passed above priced at $100 after launch. ASUS claims a mistake was made That resulted in Best Buy listing the laptop with a starting price of $1,599.99. That price was even active for a brief period.
But the Zenbook A16 with its Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and a whopping 48GB RAMnow starts at $1,699.99.
The Zenbook A16 remains an exceptional laptop. It’s gorgeous, lightweight, and offers the best Windows on Arm experience available today. It’s a shame it’s not as affordable as it seemed at first.
