YouTube creator DirectorFeng is back with another ASMR-themed video in which they try to upgrade the storage on a new Apple device. Watch it below.

Last year, we covered DirectorFeng’s attempt to upgrade the iPhone 17 Pro Max to 2TB of storage, which ran into NAND incompatibility issues.
Still, the ASMR-themed teardown video was an interesting watch, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Now, DirectorFeng is back with a new “immersive teardown” where they successfully upgrade a 256GB drive. macbook neo to 1 TB.
The process, however, was not easy at all. After separating the logic board and revealing its innards, DirectorFeng desolders the macbook neoThe 256GB NAND chip cleans everything up and then solders it into a 1TB replacement.

Interestingly, DirectorFeng doesn’t seem to be the first to try this particular mod.
In the comments section of the video, viewers pointed out another fix creator, Yang Changshun, who supposedly made the same update during a live stream, although the video does not appear to be available on YouTube.
