The launch of the iPhone Fold is six months away, and according to a new leak, its wrinkle-free display will soon reach a major milestone: entering mass production.
This week brought several new details about Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone.
Bloomberg reported in iOS 27 software changes that will enable iPad-like app features on the foldable device, and reports yesterday standout hardware features like RAM and storage, along with expected prices.
Today, the Instant Digital filter has published a new update. It covers the most important component of the iPhone Fold: the long-awaited “crease-free” display.
It says the iPhone Fold’s display panels, which will be provided by Samsung, are scheduled to begin mass production in May.

This follows a previous post from Instant Digital last month that said mass production of the full iPhone Fold device is scheduled for July.
In January at CES, Samsung showed a prototype of its latest generation folding screen technology. It provided a great look at what to expect from the iPhone Fold, especially compared to previous foldable displays.
Samsung’s first foldable was launched seven years ago. In the intervening years there have been many rumors that Apple was investigating foldable screen technology. However, it reportedly postponed the launch of a foldable iPhone until a wrinkle-free design could be achieved.
All signs point to this finally being the year it happened.
