Apple registers new ‘gen AI’ subdomain ahead of next month’s WWDC keynote

Apple has newly registered a new subdomain record before WWDC: genai.apple.com. All signs point to WWDC 2026 being Apple’s biggest AI renaissance, with the company delivering on the promises it made at WWDC 2024, as well as some additional new announcements.

This subdomain was first discovered by Aaron Perris MacRumorsand the link does not currently lead to an active web page. It’s unclear what it will be used for, or if it will even be a public website, but needless to say, this is likely related to Apple’s upcoming generative AI announcements at WWDC.

As mentioned above, Apple will finally live up to the promises it made two years ago, and more. Siri should finally be able to understand more personal context, have screen awareness, and be able to take action in apps for you. This will finally be possible thanks to Apple’s new partnership with Google, where Apple will use Gemini-disseminated models hosted on Private Cloud Compute to power Siri.

Beyond what it announced at WWDC 2024, Apple will also introduce a new Siri app. This will allow you to access your previous Siri conversations, as well as have text-based conversations with Siri.

Other Apple Intelligence updates coming soon to WWDC 2026 They include the ability to generate wallet swipes from physical tickets, new editing features in the Photos app, and additional functionality for Visual Intelligence. In addition to Apple Intelligence, Apple is expected to focus on performance and stability improvements above everything else.
