Google’s biggest show of the year always starts with a countdown. For I/O 2026, you can be part thanks to vibration coding.
This involves using the Gemini or AI Studio app’s Canvas feature to code “your most creative idea that features a large number between 1 and 10 (or all).”
In terms of requirements, or lack thereof: “This could be anything you imagine… A game? Fluid simulation? Playable synth? Sure! As long as there’s a big number in the middle, it’s valid.”
Google provides two templates for inspiration or remixing:
Once you are done, you need to create a “share link and place it on this form by May 6.” Also: “Be sure to add one of your social handles below so we know how to credit you, and then tune in to the live stream starting at 9:55am PDT on May 19 to see if you showed up!”
Overall, this is a fun experience that relies on vibration encoding.
