Clicks confirm Communicator launch timing, limited shipments in Q4

Several months after appearing in preview at CES 2026, the Clicks team is sharing updates on when Clicks Communicator will launch and ship to reservation holders, and hopes to release them by the end of the year.

Clicks Communicator is something of a niche device, but one that certainly breaks the norms of modern Android devices in the best way. It offers a Blackberry-style keyboard with a small display stacked on top. The company has made a name for itself on the back of its type case, but it is preparing to launch its first standalone Android device.

According to an update sent to pre-order holders, Clicks has confirmed its general release schedule and what the Communicator’s journey will look like in the meantime (via droid life). For those who were expecting a quick process, you may need to be a little more patient.

The update says the following:

  • Can: We’ll begin sharing glimpses of the Communicator experience: the software, the interface, and the decisions that were made to make it feel distinctly like a Communicator.
  • June: Seeing is believing. We will have units in operation to show, as committed for the second quarter.
  • Q3: Certifications and tests. You will also be invited to configure your order, including Communicator color and keyboard layout. Here you will also be invited to choose your additional covers, including limited edition colors.
  • Q4: Production and shipping to reservation holders.

The update says that the team expects to ship finished devices to pre-order holders in the fourth quarter of 2026, which is certainly a long way off. Please note that the email appears to mention only reserved units. That would indicate that general production will begin in the fourth quarter, with pre-ordered devices coming out first, as expected.

Before that end point, testing should be completed once the company is in the right place to develop units of work sometime in June.

Even with the better part of a year ahead of Clicks before the finalized Communicator can be released, the silver lining is in the upcoming updates around the software experience. Again, our preview was quite limited during CES 2026 and there was no working unit available. We know that the company is partnering with Niagara Launcher to develop its own Android experience, so there’s surely a lot to look forward to.

After all, Clicks Communicator is aimed at productivity-focused users who need a bit of a break from the traditional phone. A form factor like that will take a little time to get right.

As for when Clicks Communicator will launch for those who pre-ordered one early in Q4, there appear to be few details. The company will surely share more information as the expected launch approaches.
