What is resonant control?
Control Resonant is described by Remedy’s chief commercial officer, Johannes Paloheimo, as “the most expansive game ever created” by the studio. Remedy is self-publishing the title, with marketing planned around Summer Game Fest and events throughout the summer leading up to the September 24 release.
A hands-off preview in March highlighted the game’s fast-paced combat. The game shares a universe with Alan Wake 2 and may continue some of those story elements, although the extent of the connection has not been detailed.
Remedy is working on remakes of the first two Max Payne games in collaboration with Rockstar Games, with additional details to be announced at a later date. The Control Resonant reveal took place during the June 2026 PlayStation State of Play, which also included the announcement of God of War Laufey and other titles.
Control Resonant will be released on September 24, 2026 for PS5, Xbox, and PC. Remedy has not yet provided full details on pre-order options or regional pricing.
