Deadline reports that Annette Benning has replaced Jean Smart in 42.6 yearsa “romance comedy with genre elements” in which an experimental procedure leaves Andy Samberg “cryogenically frozen for 42.6 years.” Upon waking up, he “sets out to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend Ruthie (Bening) and, although he hasn’t aged a day, she has lived a lifetime without him.”

Variety reports that Kani Releasing has acquired the North American rights to the fina new dystopian sci-fi film from Syeyoung Park (The fifth thoracic vertebra) about mutated newts. Set on a Korean peninsula in the near future after a devastating war, the story is about “a subspecies of mutated newts excluded from a water-starved society, known as Omegas.” The story “is set in motion when a dying Omega asks a companion to find his daughter, Mia, who has hidden her identity among the human population, so that she can inherit his fin through a sacred rite. Parallel to this is the arc of Sujin, a government worker played by Kim Pureum, whose certainty in the ruling order begins to fracture as she hunts the Omega for her own reasons.”
Luigi’s mansion
In a recent interview with On-screen rantCharlie Day stated that he would be “delighted” to star in a Luigi’s mansion movie as long as he doesn’t have to write it himself.
I would be happy to do it Luigi’s mansionjust because it’s a very fun game. And it’s not like you’d make it like a kids’ horror movie, but it could have more types of jump scares, which would be fun.
It sounds like it would make a great movie, but I’m not… they don’t put me in charge of movie studios and for good reason. I have no idea.
Personally, I wouldn’t like the job. Don’t give me that. Yes, it would be a lot of pressure. But if they do, I’m in.

Deadline reports filming in the new tomb Raider The series has been temporarily paused following “a minor injury” suffered by star Sophie Turner on set. According to a statement from Amazon-MGM Studios, “out of an abundance of caution, production has been briefly paused to give it time to recover. We hope to resume production as soon as possible.”
doctor who
Also speaking in C2E2 (this time via pop verses), Christopher Eccleston declared that he would “return to” doctor who “as an opportunity” if the series hires its first female showrunner, preferably one who was a fan of the show during her brief tenure as the Doctor in 2005.

Here’s the thing: Doctor Who is written for children. There has never been a female Doctor Who showrunner. So my dream is this: there was a girl who was, I don’t know, six, seven, eight years old in 2005 when my series came out, and she got the job and asked me to come back. I would come back like a shot.
