Featured Standalone App: ‘Cats Lock’ is a fun Mac app that solves cat keyboard spam

welcome to Featured Standalone App. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the world of standalone apps. If you are a developer and want your app to appear, get in contact.

If you are a beloved cat owner, you may often have your cat running around your Mac keyboard, causing a lot of unnecessary keyboard input and sometimes even unwanted communications. Cat lock has a solution and soon your cat will be able to roam freely on your MacBook keyboard.

how it works

Cat lock It can be activated at any time using Cmd + L, instantly disabling the keyboard and allowing your cat to stretch freely. There is also a menu bar app toggle, which can sometimes be more appropriate. When the keyboard is disabled, the app plays custom sounds on each disabled key press, so you can hear your cat typing even when you’re in another room. By default, your screen is also blurred.

If you’re in a meeting, per se, and keyboard input isn’t very necessary, you can also try stealth mode, which disables the keyboard without blurring or sound effects. The same rules apply and you can disable Cats Lock with Cmd + L.

All in all, if you’re looking for a nifty Mac app that stops unwanted keyboard input while still allowing you to spend time with your cat near your Mac, Cat lock is the app for you.

Download the application

Cat lock is available for purchase at Mac App Store for $2.99. It’s a one-time purchase, with no further in-app purchases or subscriptions required. It also has free tracking and is fully protected.
