Forza Horizon 6 will be released on May 19, 2026, with Japan as the backdrop. The game has already obtained 500,000 pre-orders and arrives more than five years after Forza Horizon 5. It will feature rural and urban environments throughout Japan.
The developer has confirmed new progression systems, social features, expanded customization options, and revised traffic AI, along with graphical and audio improvements.
Forza Horizon 6 adds Legend Island and new social features
Forza Horizon 6 introduces Legend Island, an endgame area unlocked by collecting all seven bracelets in the world. The location features its own events, an outpost, and two featured tracks: the Colossus Highway, which circles the entire edge of the map, and the Goliath Race, known as the longest in the series. Legend Island aims to extend progression beyond the main campaign.
Car Meets replaces isolated multiplayer menus with social hubs integrated into the game world, where players can collect, race, and display vehicles without loading screens. Drag Meets introduces a competitive multiplayer element. A CoLab tool allows players to create custom events with friends. The developer sees community features as a key part of the game’s long-term development.
Forza Horizon 6 Expands Customization, Property Building, and Traffic AI
Vehicle customization extends to garages and homes. Players can purchase estates to showcase car collections, download community-designed liveries, and build freely within the game world using the Estate system. Car modification and base building are presented as separate but parallel paths of progression.
Early footage of the game faced criticism for having few NPCs on the city streets. The developer has confirmed that traffic will be more populated at launch and has introduced a new artificial intelligence system to make road users behave in a more realistic way, rather than acting as static props. This update aims to create a more natural feel on urban routes during longer gaming sessions.
